Each day this month, I am posting an update and a blessing. I love this time of year! It’s a trifecta of amazing celebrations. Thanksgiving time is a time to celebrate family, friends, and all of the blessings in the world. Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is a time of magic and wonder. New Years Day is always a great day to reflect on the past year and envision where you want to be the next year. The world is filled with excitement and caring for others. This part of it should be celebrated year round. Every day, we should wake up kind and with a willing heart to help others.
Today, I am feeling blessed that Michael was safe when he had two different planes break down on him. Due to these events, he arrived home slightly early. A few extra hours with him home is a huge perk when he work weeks at a time in a row without a day off. I felt lazy since I was really stressed all week about a test yesterday (I only missed one question #nailedit) and getting everything done in time. The kids played in the bounce house all day! They love it.
The boys turned it into a man cave.
The girl’s took over during there turn .
As soon as Michael was home today, we went to work. He finished my Christmas present. We now have a big enough dining room table to seat all of us, have elbow room, and fit guests! This table weighs a ton since it is 12 feet by 4 feet long. The hours, sweat, love, and planning by Michael makes it special. All of the kids’ hand prints and names on it makes it perfect for us. They have been a huge help all along the way with it and have learned so much!
Board by board, 40+ hours cumulatively whenever we could spare a moment, lots of primer and paint; this massive table was ready to come inside out of the cold garage.
I remember building things with my Dad. I am so glad our children get to learn and make these memories too.
So many “cooks” in one kitchen helping.
Rule following Aurora, of course had her instruction manual out :).
We cook and eat 95%+ of all of our meals at home. It is a great way to communicate with each other, share stories, laugh, and make memories. Plus, it is so much cheaper and healthier! There is not a better table in the world for us right now <3.
Who want’s to join us for dinner? We have room and they are not quite as messy when they eat now!
Xoxo,
Roxanna
You sure have a giant dining oom!
